SODUS, N.Y. — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office found the body of a missing boater.

Rodney A Bundschuh, 59, of Victor was found at about 8:15 pm on Monday. The Investigation into the collision is still ongoing.

The female passenger who was pulled from the water on Sunday has been identified as Judi A. Bonk-Guy, 57, of Victor. She remains at Strong Hospital in guarded condition.

Bundschuh and Bonk-Guy were ejected from their boat Sunday night. The two had been in a cigar-style speedboat and somehow went overboard. It happened near Martin’s Tidesides Marine.

Longtime Rochester radio host Brother Wease and his wife Doreen, say they’ve been friends with Bundshuch for years.

Brother Wease and his wife live in the area and say it was nearby boaters who helped find Bonk-Guy. The couple said Bundshuch was a self-proclaimed boating enthusiast and he loved to be on the water, having done it for decades.

Brother Wease says Bundschuh was out on the water the day before without any problems. Whatever went wrong this time, he says, is a tragedy.
