House on Ames Street extensively damaged in fire

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A fire on Ames Street near Jay Street in Rochester caused quite a bit of damage to a home Wednesday evening.

The Rochester Fire Department tweeted video from the scene.

Firefighters had a problem getting water from the hydrant nearby, so a second engine was brought in as a secondary source of water.

No one was found inside. The house suffered extensive damage to the first and second floors.

Fire investigators are looking into the cause.
