Rochester father sentenced for deadly overdose of his infant daughter

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A judge on Thursday sentenced a Rochester father to 5 to 11 years in state prison after the deadly overdose of his 13-month-old daughter back in January.

Dillon Brito pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter and tampering with evidence earlier this month. The 32-year-old passed out while using fentanyl at his apartment on Joseph Avenue and his daughter, Dianelis, died from ingesting those drugs.

Two maintenance workers at Chatham Gardens apartments tried to revive the infant, including by performing CPR, but she later died at the hospital.
