Bills linebacker Matt Milano is ‘out indefinitely’ with bicep tear

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano is “out indefinitely” with a tear in his bicep, says Adam Schefter with ESPN.

Milano left practice on Tuesday with the injury. He will need to have surgery with the hope of returning later this season, possibly in December, according to Schefter.

Last season was also cut short for Milano because of an injury. He suffered a fractured leg during their week five game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“He knows all the work that he put in. No one knows the work that Matt put in to get himself back to where he was before,” said Bills head coach Sean McDermott.

The injury diminishes a Bills linebacker room also fairly thin after the team lost Tyrel Dodson in free agency. Second year player Dorian Williams and third year player Baylon Spector are expected to have increased roles. Together, they have combined for just two career starts.

“It’s not just one person’s job to try and fill the void left by Matt,” said McDermott. “Now it’s time for our team to move forward in a resilient manner and pick each other up.”

While the injury to Milano is a major blow, it does give the Bills two preseason games to try and figure out who will need to step up before the start of the regular season.
