RPD breaks down door with battering ram while investigating gunfire
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police used a battering ram to break down a door while investigating gunfire on the city’s northwest side on Thursday.
Officers used the battering ram on Emerson Street around 2 a.m. Police had originally responded to the street after getting a ShotSpotter alert. They found that bullets had hit a home while two adults were inside. Neither of them were injured.
Officers explain they used the battering ram to break down the door because there may have been a victim inside.
Police searched the home and found 12 pounds of marijuana, over 100 prescription pills in unmarked containers, and what police believe to be psychedelic mushrooms.
A 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of cannabis.
