TEXAS – U.S. officials are targeting a gang with ties to drug and human trafficking that reaches from the southern tip of Chile to Western New York.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared “Tren de Aragua,” also known as TDA, a foreign terrorist organization. In his announcement, Abbott showed a map of the gang’s known ties in the U.S.

In the Northeast, the only known connection is Western New York, which is listed as a drug trafficking tie. News10NBC has reached out to local law enforcement to learn more and will share any developments.

According to the governor’s office, since 2021, more than 3,000 illegal immigrants from Venezuela have been arrested in Texas.
