Luis Garcia’s hot bat lifts Red Wings to series finale

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Red Wings (7-5) scored all the runs they would need in the first two innings of play, taking down the Bisons (7-5), 8-1 in the series finale on Sunday afternoon. The win gave them a split in their first series with Buffalo this year.

As for a storyline that stands out, look no further than Luis Garcia. The shortstop pushed his hitting streak to nine games after a pair of hits and three runs driven in. It comes a day after the native New Yorker went 3-6 with an RBI. It’s all part of an early surge that’s given him a top-ten batting average in the International League.

The Red Wings have Monday off before heading to Lehigh valley for six games beginning Tuesday.
