Area churches observe Good Friday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester-area Christians observed Good Friday, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Friday morning, people in Rochester walked the Stations of the Cross, starting at City Hall, with prayers and messages for peace and hope.

The group then continued walking down Plymouth Avenue and ended the walk at the federal building.

There were a total of 14 stops as they commemorated the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary.

"Looking at some of the different ways Jesus is crucified today by war, by militarism by racism homelessness economic inequality police brutality the lack of justice in our justice system," on participant told News10NBC crews.

Good Friday is observed during Holy Week, leading up to Easter Sunday.
