First Alert Weather: Needed Rainfall Does Not Arrive In Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – Plenty of mid-summer weather today. Most communities in Western New York experienced lots of humidity with the temperature in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Rainfall is below normal for the month of June and most of the Rochester area measured just a trace of rain thus far today. However, a cold front is set to move through for the overnight. This front could bring a few needed thundershowers this evening, but overall the next few days look for be mainly dry.

Again, tonight there will still be the chance of a few showers and maybe a thundershower. The threat of rain should last until about 1:00 AM and then skies will begin to clear towards morning. Monday will bring a refreshing change with noticeably cooler and drier weather. The high temperature is expected to be only be in the lower 70s with much less humidity to start the week. Look for bright sunshine for Monday morning and then partial sunshine for the afternoon. Tuesday will again be a comfortable day with lower humidity and a high temperature in the lower 70s.

Wednesday look for partial sunshine with just a spotty shower. The mercury will rise into the upper 70s. Thursday will bring a little more heat and more sunshine with a high temperature in the middle 80s.
