UPDATE: Man found shot on Orange Street; no suspect in custody
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man was found shot Tuesday afternoon on Orange Street, in the vicinity of School #17.
Rochester Police say they responded to Orange Street at around 3:24 p.m. for the report of a person stabbed. They found a 33-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound to his lower body. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and went into surgery. Police say he is expected to live.
Police said the and another person were involved in an altercation that led to the shooting. The suspected shooter has not been located, and no arrests had yet been made as of 7:17 p.m.
There was a large police presence on Orange Street, and police had the area taped off for several hours, but it has since been reopened.
This shooting comes a day after a man was found shot dead after having been shot in the back lot of School #19.
