East Rochester police officer hit by car during traffic stop

EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y. — An East Rochester police officer was hit by a car that took off from a traffic stop for speeding.

It happened just after 11 p.m. on Thursday. Investigators say the woman driving the car rolled her window up on the officer’s arm took off, hitting the officer with her car. The officer had minor injuries and was treated at the scene. After taking off, the car crashed nearby but the driver ran away.

East Rochester Police are continuing to investigate. They say they know who the driver is, and charges are pending.
