Police release name of driver killed in rollover crash on Hudson Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police have released the name of the driver killed in a rollover crash at Hudson Avenue and Upper Falls Boulevard on Friday night.

J’la Jimenez, 20, of Gates, died after the car she was driving crashed into another car. RPD said she was driving on Hudson Avenue with two other women in the car and passed through a red light. Another car on Hudson Avenue that had a green light hit Jimenez’s bumper, causing her car to spin out of control and roll over at least once. All three women were ejected.

Jimenez was found on the road unresponsive and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her passengers were also taken to Strong with minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle and his passenger were taken to Rochester General Hospital with minor injuries. Police said they were both cooperative with the investigation.

No charges have been filed and RPD says there is no suspicion of alcohol or a crime. RPD is continuing to investigate the crash.
