ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Animal Services hosted a Halloween-themed event with free dog adoptions on Sunday.

Bark-or-Treat took place at Brown Square Park on Verona Street. The event allowed people to meet dogs at the shelter’s play yard while also enjoying treats and vendors.

“Pets, dogs, and cats are integral to people’s psychological well-being, even health well-being. It creates a community,” said David Langley, community relations and engagement coordinator at Rochester Animal Services.

Shelter leaders said people can also help the shelter by fostering a pet or volunteering there.
