Man charged with burglary and assault after massive search in Hilton

HILTON, N.Y. — A man is facing burglary and assault charges after a massive search in Hilton on Wednesday morning.
Monroe County sheriff’s deputies were called for family trouble at a two-apartment complex around 1 a.m. Deputies say the suspect ran away as they were approaching him, setting off a search with drones and a K-9 unit. Deputies eventually arrested the man, Joseph Ortiz-Serrano, around Archer Driver and Marple Lane.
Ortiz-Serrano is also facing strangulation and criminal mischief charges. There’s no word yet on the condition of the victim. We’ve reached out to deputies for more information.
