Red Wings fall to Bisons in home opener

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A week after getting off to their best start in six games since 2017, the Rochester Red Wings (4-3) fell to the Buffalo Bisons (5-2), 6-4 on Tuesday evening.

Rochester opened up the evening with a handful of festivities that captivated fans in the ballpark but early into the game, the Bisons shifted the attention to them.

Buffalo put up a three-spot in the 2nd on a force-out, groundout, and single. Jake Noll put the Red Wings on the board an inning later on a Jake Noll RBI single. Andrew Young tacked on a running scoring double of his own in the next frame for his 4th RBI of the year.

But with the game knotted up at 4 in the 9th, LJ Talley and Gosuke Katoh drive in a run each before Buffalo closed the door in the bottom of the inning.

The loss drops Rochester to (10-15) all-time in home openers at Frontier Field.
