Man faces charges after chase with stolen car ends in four-car crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Two people were arrested after a police chase with a stolen car ended in a four-car crash on the city’s northeast side.

The crash happened on Tuesday around 4 p.m. at Norton and Townsend streets. New York State troopers say Francisco Rivera, 60, refused to stop and led them on a chase through multiple city streets before crashing.

Rivera is facing multiple charges including criminal possession of stolen property, unlawful fleeing of a police officer, and driving while ability impaired by drugs.

State Police also arrested the passenger, 29-year-old Brianna Velez, for her outstanding arrest warrants in Seneca County. Rivera was taken to Strong Hospital for minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
