Midlakes holds vote Wednesday on improvement project; Other school districts will hold votes next week

Multiple school districts will hold votes for improvement projects on Tuesday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — As the year is nearing its end, multiple local school districts are holding votes for capital improvement projects. Four Monroe County school districts will hold votes on Tuesday.

Here’s when the votes will happen for each district. If your school district has an upcoming improvement project vote, email webmaster@whec.com to let us know about it.

Wednesday, Dec. 11

Midlakes schools (Phelps-Clifton Springs CSD)

Midlakes is seeking to create a new multipurpose turf field, replace the roof of both of its buildings, and upgrade the elementary music rooms. The $35 million project also includes upgrades to the boiler and HVAC system. The district says the project would not increase taxes and would be funded through the capital reserve fund.

Monday, Dec. 16

Pavilion Central School District

Pavilion CSD is seeking to upgrade its tennis court, playground, STEAM classrooms, and theatrical lighting. The capital improvement plan also calls for funding for the new Ag-Tech program. The project would cost $24.5 million and the district says there would be no additional tax impact.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

Bloomfield Central School District

Bloomfield CSD is seeking to replace its aging bus garage with a new transportation center near the middle/high school campus. The project also includes funding for student programs including a Career & Technical Education (CTE) Learning Space for Agricultural Education. The $35 million project would be mostly funded through state aid.

Wayland-Cohocton Central School District

Wayland-Cohocton CSD is seeking to renovate its innovation center for STEM programs, art and agriculture rooms, and field house. It’s also looking to improve its baseball field, HVAC system, and fuel storage for transportation. The district says the nearly $32 million capital improvement plan would not impact taxes and over 92% of the funding would come from state building aid.
