Webster bowling alley will likely be closed for weeks after fire that led to evacuation

WEBSTER, N.Y. — Bowlero Bowling Alley on Empire Boulevard will likely be closed for weeks, according to the West Webster fire chief, after a fire on Wednesday night.

Chief Glen Moorhouse said management at the bowling alley did “an excellent job” evacuating the building after a fire broke out in the attic space above the kitchen. No one was injured in the fire.

Firefighters responded around 9 p.m. and the fire took about 35 minutes to control. News10NBC’s crew at the scene saw firefighters use ladder trucks but no smoke was visible from the outside of the building. Part of Empire Boulevard near Gravel Road was closed to traffic.
