ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Red Wings are looking for volunteers to help with the annual "Clean Sweep" on Saturday, May 7.

The Clean Sweep starts at Frontier Field and heads across town, as litter picker-uppers make Rochester a more beautiful place.

Since it was first launched in 2006, more than 30,000 volunteers have participated in the Clean Sweep, working alongside city crews to remove winter debris and litter from city neighborhoods.

"Neighborhood beautification does make a difference," said the city’s Commissioner of Environmental Services Richard Perrin. "It’s an important part of our mission and values that will inspire hope and generate opportunity that helps us achieve the ultimate goal of what we want. a safe, equitable and prosperous Rochester."

Volunteers will get a free ticket to that day’s Red Wings baseball game.

They’ll also get a voucher for free food and drink.
