UPDATE: RPD says man was shot dead by apartment occupant after breaking in

Update: Rochester Police said they responded to an apartment around 4:30 p.m. for reports of a person wearing a mask who broke in, and was shot by one of the occupants.
When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police said at least three to four more gunshots were fired into the apartment by people running from the scene.
The shotgun that killed the man was recovered, along with a loaded handgun. So far no charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing, and the case will be turned over to the Monroe County District Attorney’s office.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Saturday around 4:30 p.m. the Rochester Police Department responded to 231 Kenwood Ave. after a man in his 20s had been shot.
When officers arrived they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was not alert or conscious and died at the scene.
An occupant of the house told officers that he shot the man, who is believed to have been wearing a mask as he allegedly broke into the Kenwood Avenue home.
At least three or four other rounds were fired into the apartment by people fleeing the scene once the man was shot.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation, and no charges have been filed. The man who died has not yet been identified.
