ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester City School District posted its revised budget Thursday.

The RCSD revised its budget and Friday presented the new version to the commissioner of education after it was a hot topic at the School board meeting last Tuesday night.

The board’s vice president says it discovered an additional $6 million in overstated revenue—a big budget flaw—and the state’s appointed monitor made RCSD draw up a new version reducing its dependence on the fund balance from $30 million to $10 million.

The district says it did that by reducing operating expenses, unfilled and frozen vacant positions, and out-of-district travel.
