ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Honor Flight Rochester is back this weekend.

The program brings U.S. Military veterans to Washington D.C. at no cost to them to see memorials honoring them and their fellow service members.

Flights had been paused due to COVID risks, but this Saturday, Mission 70 will fly out of the airport in Rochester with 57 local veterans. They’ll return on Sunday with a ceremony planned at 11:45 a.m.

Six missions are planned for 2022 in the spring and fall.

Veterans who were slated to fly pre-pandemic are at the top of the fly list.
