Flu cases still on the rise in New York

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Flu cases are still on the rise in New York.

Data for the Centers for Disease Control’s week 10 of flu season, which ended March 12, show 1,871 cases of the flu statewide this season, compared to 1,127 last week.

Monroe County has had 1,315 total cases of the flu in the 2021-2022 flu season, which is the most of all the counties that are outside of the New York City Metro area.

This year’s flu season is still mild compared to a normal flu season. During the 2019-2020 flu season, there were 7,163 flu cases across the state during week 10 and in the 2018-2019 flu season, there were 6,490.
