ROCHESTER, N.Y. — COVID-19 policies could loosen soon for people traveling from the U.S. into Canada.
In June, the Canadian government extended COVID-19 restrictions requiring proof of vaccination to cross the border until September 30th.
That deadline is coming up and many are hopeful it could open up travel. Right now, if you want to visit Canada, you have to use the ArriveCAN app to enter proof of vaccination 72 hours before crossing the border.
Good Question: Do you still need to use the ArriveCAN app?
Our affiliate in Buffalo is reporting that has led to an almost 40% drop in border traffic. Canada still hasn’t announced whether it will extend the restrictions beyond next Friday.
