Seton Catholic 5th graders make bracelets for Ukrainian refugees

BRIGHTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — Ever since the war in Ukraine started we’ve seen great acts of charity in our city.
How about this one? Fifth graders at Seton Catholic School in Brighton decided to make bracelets with the Ukrainian flag colors and started selling them Monday during lunchtime. They’re so popular the students sold out of their supply earlier this week and the students had to make new ones.

As of Thursday, the students raised $230 for refugees from Ukraine.
"I like making bracelets and the people in Ukraine need help right now and it would be easy to sell bracelets at my school and then donate the money," 5th grader Anika Niemiec said. "And that they need the money so much more than I would right now."
"I just like to help people out," said 5th grader Korina Campos. "And I also like to make bracelets. Yeah!"
The students will donate the money to Catholic Relief Services in support of Ukraine.
