Senator Chuck Schumer will be in Rochester to announce funding for a Joseph Avenue arts center

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer will be in Rochester on Monday to announce new funding for the Future Center for Performing and Visual Arts.

He will speak at the arts center, 692 Joseph Ave., at 12:30 pm. The outdoor event is open to the public.

The Joseph Avenue Arts and Culture Alliance, which managed the arts center, seeks to support Rochester’s northeast quadrant through free classes in music, dance, theater, and visual arts. They’ve recently held dance lessons led by instructors from award-winning Garth Fagan Dance Company and African music drumming classes.

The event will be live-streamed at whec.com.
