RCSD looking for partners for Each One, Reach Once initiative

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester City School District Thursday showed off the progress it’s made on a new initiative called "Each One, Reach One" that aims to make city schools safer and address the lack of jobs in the city.

The program has been running since December, but the program is looking for more community partners that can help get the word out about available positions and the work that is being done to ensure the hallways are less violent.

"We know that partners in our community have ideas and ways that they can partner and engage with the Rochester City School District, around student spirituality and wellbeing, around public health and safety, around education, around social-emotional and parent engagement and around career development and job opportunities," said RCSD Chief of Human Capital Christopher Miller. "All of those things interconnect together for the youth in our community."

The district has already implemented Fathers Initiating Restorative Engagement (FIRE) as a way for dads to undergo training in youth development and violence de-escalation.
