13-year-old boy stabbed during altercation on Dewey Ave

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Before 8 a.m. on Tuesday, RPD officers responded to a call on Rand Street for a teen that had been stabbed.

Officers arrived to the scene and located a 13-year-old boy with multiple stab wounds to his upper body. He was taken to the hospital and is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation found that it occurred during an altercation at the 1600 block of Dewey Avenue. However, officers do not know if the victim was on his way to school when the stabbing happened.
