$150k offered to start women’s business center in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Are you a local nonprofit looking to back a Women’s Business Center in Rochester? If so, there is grant money on the table.

A grant of $150,000 is now being offered to one nonprofit organization in Rochester to establish a community-based center. Organizers say the centers secure economic justice and entrepreneurial opportunities for women across more than 100 nationwide locations.

The grant funding was secured through the Small Business Administration.

According to Congressman Joe Morelle, eligible nonprofit organizations must be private and must provide services to the population within the specified areas.

The application acceptance period for this grant opportunity is open through Sept. 1. Proposals must be posted to www.grants.gov
