18th Annual Reidman Foundation Trout Derby held at Powder Mills Park

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WHEC) — Hundreds of people got together at Powder Mills Park for a trout season opening day tradition: The 18th Annual Reidman Foundation Trout Derby.

Everyone from beginners to experts, children and adults, came out to show their support for the fish hatchery.

"It’s kind of become a Rochester tradition for a lot of the families that fish here. It’s a great family event and if you want to introduce your kid to fishing this would probably be the spot you’d want to bring them," said Ron Mitchell.

Prizes were awarded in three age categories, including a $500 cash prize for the person who caught the biggest brown trout!
