2 charged after armed carjacking on Scio Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Two men, one of whom is a parolee, are facing charges after an armed carjacking that happened on Saturday night in Rochester.

Police say it happened just after 11 p.m. on the 300 block of Scio Street.

They were called by a food delivery service employee who told them a man pointed a handgun at him and stole his vehicle.

Rochester Police Officers saw the stolen vehicle on Chestnut Street and started a pursuit.

Police say the passenger in the stolen vehicle ran off, but officers chased him and took him into custody. Police say they found a handgun on the suspect that was stolen from another state.

The vehicle eventually stopped, with the driver attempting to run. Police say he was taken into custody as well.

Keith Fleming, 40, of Rochester was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property and felony driving while intoxicated and issued several vehicle and traffic citations.

Charles Reed, 34, of Rochester, who police say is on parole for a criminal possession of a weapon conviction, was charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon and third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police say no one was hurt.
