HILTON, N.Y. (WHEC)— There will be no Hilton Apple Fest in 2021.
Organizers Tuesday announced they are pushing back the 40th celebration until 2022, citing risks associated with large gatherings, and costs. This year’s festival was originally planned for Oct. 2 and 3.
In a statement posted to its website, organizers said they looked at any variables and safety precautions before making the decision to cancel. They said the cost of compliance was too high and would outweigh the revenue generated.

“This is a painful decision for all of us, but we know that it is the best and safest decision for the health and wellbeing of our community, our vendors, and our attendees,” said 2021 Festival Board Chair Linda Viney.
Organizers say they are discussing "alternative ways" to keep its community focus in motion this year and are optimistic looking ahead to next year’s festival.
