ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — Changes are coming to Frontier Field.

County Executive Adam Bello and state lawmakers announced the stadium will be getting new seats. In addition, the stadium will get new bistro seating, improved patio seating for dining, and a new 360-degree concourse so fans can watch the game from all angles.

The total cost of renovations to the stadium is $26 million, with $10 million coming from New York State.

"I’m at a loss for words, honestly. I’m so excited about this. For our fans, they truly deserve it and can’t wait to open up a brand new Frontier Field," said Dan Mason, general manager of the Red Wings.

The renovations won’t interfere with the Red Wings’ baseball season. Construction will likely begin after next summer’s season and should take about three years to complete.
