ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — A 34-year-old shooting victim is recovering in the hospital after Rochester Police Department officers applied a tourniquet.

Officers responded to North Clinton Avenue and Burbank Street around 11 p.m. on Sunday for reports of a man shot.

They found the victim with at least one gunshot wound to his leg. Officers immediately applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, which staff from Strong Hospital’s emergency department said likely saved his life. He is now in stable condition.

No one is in custody and anyone who might have information is asked to call 911.
