63-year-old Rochester man struck and killed crossing Portland Avenue
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester police confirm a 63-year-old man was killed while walking across Portland Avenue on the city’s northeast side. It happened between Delamaine Drive and Grafton Street around 6:44pm Sunday.
Portland Avenue from Oneida Street to Chapin Street was expected to be closed to traffic for several hours during the investigation into how the fatal accident happened.
Police have not identified the man who was a city resident. They say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.
