ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Thursday was a special day for so many great local students who have worked hard in class and at home throughout the pandemic.
Nine students from around the area were honored during a virtual ceremony as part of the first "Do the Right Thing" award ceremony of the school year.
Check out the ceremony below, or click here.
The program, hosted by the Rochester Police Department, is focused on promoting positive relationships between law enforcement and younger people. Awards are given out to students who do "good deeds" like doing well in school, giving back to others or "improving" on behavior.
News10NBC is a proud sponsor of the Do the Right Thing program. News10NBC Today anchor Brennan Somers works with the group and was the emcee for Thursday’s ceremony.
