(NBCNC) — McDonald’s is delaying its office workers’ return to work by more than a month and it’s requiring staff to be fully vaccinated by Sept. 27.

The fast food giant joins a growing list of employers delaying their return to the office or requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for employees as concerns over the delta variant grow.

The vaccine mandate doesn’t apply to McDonald’s restaurant-level workers.

Amtrak also announced Wednesday it will soon require its employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Employees who are not vaccinated by Nov. 1 will have to submit to weekly testing.

Amtrak also said starting Oct. 1 all new employees will need to show proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.

The new mandate will apply to all of Amtrak’s 18,000 employees.
