ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Two Rochester residents are accused of fatally shooting a man and leaving his body in a car behind an abandoned house.
Rochester police announced on Friday that Tyrell Doty and Alexis Chung are charged with second-degree murder for the March 30 shooting of Julius Hagood. RPD said the suspects and Hagood were "known to one another."
RPD said they found Hagood’s body behind the abandoned house on 541 Ames Street and began investigating his death as a murder.
Police in Cheektowaga arrested Doty for driving a stolen vehicle and drug possession a day before the murder. Investigators said, although the victim of the stolen car was not Julius Hagood, the incident was directly connected with his murder. In late June, police in Erie County arrested Alexis Chung for theft.
Doty and Chung are being held at Monroe County Jail and are awaiting a next court date. Doty had three previous felony and three misdemeanor convictions.
