ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County will now offer drive-thru pediatric COVID testing, County Executive Adam Bello announced Friday.
The testing will be done by appointment only at the county’s Fleet Center on Paul Road near the Frederick Douglass – Greater Rochester International Airport.
Bello said the tests will be specifically for "school-aged" kids 4-19 years old who need a test to return back to school. He said to qualify, a child must not currently be under quarantine rules, and must not be experiencing symptoms.
Bello said the tests are less-invasive rapid PCR tests, which should give results within hours. The site should be able to process roughly 60 tests daily, but could expand.
Appointments will run from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Right now, the county has dates mapped out through Oct.22. You can make an appointment here.
