ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — When Emmanuel Sanders injured himself against the Buccaneers, it left a void to fill if the Bills were to match the league’s top offense.

It was a void Gabriel Davis wound up filling adequately. Now the Wide Receiver hopes it can carry over to Sunday.

Davis has a touchdown reception in back-to-back games for the first time this season and the second year in a row. Before these last two matchups, his previous one came in Week 8. Four of his five receptions against Tampa Bay came in the second half, including a TD that brought Buffalo within three points.

With Sanders doubtful for Sunday, it opens up the door for Davis to get some more looks.

If he does, he’ll be getting them from a QB with plenty of confidence in him.

“Gabe has shown and given every reason to prove why he should be out on the field,” QB Josh Allen said. “Again, he just continues to make plays and we’re going to need him through this next stretch. He’s going to have to make a lot of plays for us and again, I think it’s an opportunity he’s excited for, but more importantly that he’s ready for.”

“You open up the season and you see what he did in the back of the end zone,” Head Coach Sean McDermott said. “We were aware of it from the start and really not a whole lot different from last season, to be honest with you.”

Davis and the Bills look to snap their first losing streak of the season on Sunday at home against the Panthers at 1 p.m.
