Bills’ Ed Oliver thrilled to share defensive line with Von Miller
ORCHARD PARK, NY (WHEC) – Day two of Buffalo Bills Minicamp gave a look into how some of the team’s new additions are gelling with each other.
On the defensive line, Von Miller has made a (not-so-surprising) positive impression on the rest of the guys, Ed Oliver included.
Oliver noted a series of ways Miller has raised his eyebrows in the short time they’ve been Bills teammates.
"How knowledgeable of the game he is, how twitchy he is, his all-around approach to the game," said Oliver.
Miller, the Buffalo Bills’ prized pick-up in the offseason, comes to the 716 with a laundry-list of accomplishments. Known for being able to get to the opposing quarterback as good as anyone in the league, Miller has two Super Bowl rings and three selections as a First-Team AP All-Pro.
The NFL veteran joins a Bills defense who ranked first in the NFL last season, thanks to guys like Ed Oliver, who finished with 41 tacklse and 4.0 sacks in 2021.
Oliver alluded to the presence he and Miller can impose to opposing offensive lines.
"I’m going to play on the other side from him. You go over there and block him, I’m gonna go on the other side," said Oliver. "I think it’s going to be good, not only for me but for the defense as a whole. He’s a big time player and they’re going to key in on him and probably take some of the attention off me."
Oliver’s played with other talented defensive linemen before, but believes this year could be his to really break out.
"I’m looking to start out what I finished last year and build on that," said Oliver.
Ed, Von, and the rest of the Bills defense will get a chance gain more chemistry as Minicamp wraps up and the focus shifts to training camp in late July.
