Bills gear up for red-hot Patriots

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Buffalo Bills welcome the (8-4) New England Patriots to town for the first of two head-to-head meetings in four weeks. It’ll be anything but easy to beat what has been the hottest team in the league.

Following a (2-4) start, they’ve won six in a row to claim 1st place in the AFC East. Three of those wins have been by 25-points or more. In that time, QB Mac Jones has a 9-2 touchdown-interception ration with a passer rating higher than 106.

A pair of those TDs came last week in New England’s 36-point outing against the Tennessee Titans, a game in which Jones threw for over 300 yards. It was the second time he’s done so in his first NFL season making him the 6th rookie in NFL history to throw for that many yards or more multiple times.

Sean McDermott believes it’s a testament to their offensive coordinator.

“I think Josh McDaniels is off to another great job with another young quarterback with how he developed [Tom] Brady and how he’s developing Mac Jones,” McDermott said. “Tell me another quarterback, especially a young quarterback, that’s as hot as Mac Jones is right now so their record speaks for itself.”

“He throws the ball well and his receivers catch the football,” Safety Jordan Poyer said. “That’s a good formula for a win right there so he’s playing pretty well.”
