OVID, N.Y. (WHEC) — There was an explosion in a building at the Willard Drug Treatment Campus in Ovid Monday morning.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Thursday said it was caused by the “catastrophic failure” of a steam boiler and two employees were in the building when the boiler exploded.

Deputies say the explosion caused more than $100,000 in structural damage, but thankfully, no one was injured.

The building is owned and operated by New York State.
