British PM Boris Johnson announces resignation

BRITAIN (NBC) – We’re hearing from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson after his stunning fall from grace.

He’s stepping down amid mounting scandals. Most notable — lying about going to a party during COVID lockdowns.

Johnson says he blames his own party for forcing him out.

"The herd instinct is powerful and when the herd moves it moves,” Johnson said. “How sad I am to be giving up the best job in the world but thems the breaks.”

Johnson says he will stay in office until a replacement is found, which could take months.
