Buffalo Bills rookie Greg Rousseau named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — Not bad, rook. Buffalo Bills rookie defensive end Greg Rousseau has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after he tore it up on the field against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.

Buffalo’s first-round draft pick got in on the action by tipping and intercepting a pass off Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, he also added a sack and five total tackles.

Rousseau leads the team this year with three sacks. He was previously in the running for Rookie of the Week after a week two performance at the Miami Dolphins.

This was the third NFL weekly honor Buffalo has received, following a DPOTW nod for linebacker Tremaine Edmunds for and an Offensive Player of the Week nod for quarterback Josh Allen.

Rousseau and the Bills will next travel to Tennesee to take on the Titans on Monday Night Football.
