ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The New York State Cannabis Control Board has approved regulations for the Cannabinoid Hemp Program, which would regulate products containing cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD.
The Cannabis Control Board sent out the determination Wednesday afternoon.
The regulations took effect immediately, and created standards for manufacturing, laboratory testing, packaging and labeling.
The new requirements include nutritional or supplement fact panels, lists of all ingredients, listing the total cannabinoids, both CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol, known as THC, the high-inducing cannabinoid, if applicable and expiration dates.
Producers of CBD and businesses that sell it will have six months to meet the new requirements.
