ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Three dozen more Adult-use Cannabis Conditional Cultivator Licenses were approved by the New York State Cannabis Control Board on Thursday.
Last month, the first 52 licenses were approved. Local businesses like Roc Dispensary and Hydroponics in Rochester and Honest Pharm in Newark, Wayne County were included in that first group of licenses.
Local businesses in this most recent group of licenses include MDCAPMD LLC in Rochester, Stop 28 Farm and Nursery in Palmyra and Hydro Grow NY in Orleans County.
The conditional licenses allow cannabis farms to start growing this season so that a crop will be ready for when legal recreational marijuana sales will begin, which is anticipated to be the end of the year.
