Captain Ihor Hoshowsky inducted into NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Ukrainian refugee was honored Wednesday for his involvement with the United States during the Vietnam war.
Cpt. Ihor John Hoshowsky was inducted into the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Irondequoit.
The honor was presented by State Senator Samra Brouk along with other local officials, including U.S Representative Joe Morelle, Fr. Philip Weiner, Irondequoit Town Supervisor Rory Fitzpatrick, Vietnam War Veteran Slavko Wirlo, and Dr. Christine Hoshowsky and the Pylyshenko Library Committee.
Cpt. Ihor John Hoshowsky served two tours during Vietnam after fleeing to the U.S. with his family.
He has also given back to the community through teaching and community service.
