Car catches fire after colliding with a bridge, two injured

ROCHESTER N.Y. — Police confirmed that a car collided with a bridge on Maple Street and Saxton Street in Rochester, setting the car on fire.
First responders pulled two people with non-life-threatening injuries to safety. News10NBC has a crew on the scene.
Rochester Police Department responded to the crash at 4:30 a.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a car fully engulfed in flames that crashed under the railroad tracks overpass. Officers found two women laying outside the car and pulled them away to protect them from the flames and several minor explosions coming from the vehicle.
First responders took both women, believed to be in their 30s, to Strong Hospital. Police reported that the injuries are serious but non-life-threatening. It’s unknown if another vehicle was involved in the accident. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
