Carjacking at Burke Terrace is at least fifth since last Tuesday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police are looking for a car that a 65-year-old city resident said was stolen from him at gunpoint on Monday night. The carjacking is at least the fifth in the Rochester area since last Tuesday.

The Rochester Police Department responded to a call for a stolen vehicle at 10 p.m. The victim said someone pointed a gun at him, demanded the keys, and drove off with the victim’s car. Anyone with information is asked to 911.

The other recent carjackings include:

  • Tuesday on Resolute Circle in Rochester. The car was stolen at gunpoint and police recovered the car in Gates, at the scene of a second carjacking. No suspects are in custody.
  • Tuesday on Spencerport Road in Gates. Police said a group pistol-whipped the victim and they used the car stolen from Resolute Circle during the Gates carjacking.
  • Wednesday on Polaris Street in Rochester. Gates police recovered the stolen car and arrested two 15-year-olds for armed robbery. A 16-year-old in the car was arrested for unauthorized use of a vehicle.
  • Wednesday on Pattonwood Drive in Irondequoit. Police recovered the stolen car and arrested a man who they say stole the car using a knife
